Removing Roadblocks to Personal Growth

Licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Woodstock, Georgia since 1984
Our office staff does all of our scheduling. To book an initial consultation, please call our Office Manager, Tanya Bell, at 770-924-9700. Either she or her assistant can assist you. During that first call we will get your insurance or other third-party payor information and Ms. Bell will make every attempt to obtain pre-authorization from them. However, pre-authorization is not a guarantee of payment: You are ultimately responsible for our fee, which is $180 for the first hour.

Once you are scheduled, that time is reserved for you. If you are unable to attend, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance so that we may give that time slot to someone else.

Our first session will be spent getting to know one another, and deciding whether we are a good fit. I will ask you about your problems, and a little about your history, and we will discuss your goals for therapy. If, at the end of the hour, we decide to work together, we will schedule more sessions. If not, I will give you a referral to a therapist who might be a better fit for you.

A full evaluation, done properly, takes a minimum of three sessions. These sessions may involve taking a complete history, obtaining records from other healthcare providers, paper-and-pencil assessments, and developing a written treatment plan. At the end of (usually) three sessions, we will be prepared to discuss your diagnosis, prognosis, and plan for your therapy. Insurance companies require that we give a diagnosis after the first session in order to consider reimbursement, and they count the second and subsequent sessions against your initial authorization for treatment.
